Slow Week
It Was A Slow Week, And Possible Film Independent Spirit Award Nominees
So, it’s been a slow week. But we still have a few things to enjoy.
This Week In News
So, there was nothing this week, but that isn’t always a bad thing.
This Week In Comics
We do, however, have 2 comic reviews for this week.
Now, me and my girl Megan got to review this amazing Echo one-shot this week. We both loved this comic, and it’s a perfect little story starring Maya.
Now this I have been excited for. IDW released another Monster High comic reprint this week, and this was an incredible read.
This Week In TV
So, there was no new episode of Hudson & Rex on Citytv this week. However, we do have something special to talk about.
Less Than A Month Until Spirit Award Nominations
December 3rd, the Indie film world is going to be finding out what films will get nominated by Film Independent for the 2026 Spirit Awards. I have some ideas of what could get nominated.
Searchlight’s Rental Family is out in 2 weeks, and this could secure Brendan Fraser an acting nomination. This got so much buzz during the Venice Film Fest, so there is high hope for it.
NEON’s newest film, Sentimental Value, is out now in theaters. And from what was being said about it during TIFF back in September, this could nab some big awards.
IFC’s 100 Nights Of Hero is coming out soon. This cast could make a Spirit Awards run, but we will have to see.
Hedda is Nia Decosta’s newest film, and this film has potential. Tessa Thompson’s performance from this trailer alone is amazing.
Really, Chloe Zhao’s new film Hamnet could steal awards season. She won Best Director and Best Feature at the Oscars for Nomadland, so this could get her those again, and hopefully some wins at the Spirit Awards as well.
